More good news, these easy-to-make brownies use everyday kitchen ingredients. If you bake, you most likely have all of the necessary ingredients in your cupboard already.
But just in case, you will need:

These chocolate brownies are so easy, my kids have been making them since age 10 (with supervision at the stove and oven). I would love to try these brownies with some lavender stracciatella ice-cream.
Homemade chocolate brownie serving ideas
Personally, I am a purist and believe good brownies are best right out of the pan. I prefer to pick them up and enjoy as each bite melts in my mouth. However, I know I am not in the majority so I tried it out, and these brownies are also great dripping in chocolate sauce or a la mode.
The Ultimate Gooey Chocolate Brownies Recipe
If you like fudgy chocolate brownies, this is the recipe for you.
Ingredients
- 3/4 cup butter (175 gm)
- 3/4 cup cocoa powder
- 2 1/4 cups sugar
- 4 eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla essence (extract)
- 1 1/4 cups flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (180°C) degrees
- Melt butter in a medium-size saucepan
- Add cocoa, stir until dissolved, then remove from heat
- Add sugar and vanilla to the saucepan, stir
- Mix in eggs one at a time
- Stir in remaining ingredients
- Pour into a greased 9x13 pan and bake for 25 minutes
- Cool completely before cutting into 20 squares
Notes
Pro-tip: Rather than using two mixing bowls (one for wet and the other for dry ingredients), we add all wet ingredients to the saucepan after melting the butter. This makes clean up a bit easier and doesn't waste any of the melted butter.
